YouTube video editing: your long-form video cut and paced by AI

On YouTube, a 10-minute video is won or lost in two places: the first 30 seconds, where viewers decide whether to stay, and the middle, where they drop off if they get bored. Editing a long video by hand can take a whole day. With ManyMotion, you upload your video (up to 30 minutes) and the AI handles the YouTube video editing: hesitations cut, a hook up front, on-screen chapter titles, zooms, B-roll, captions, subtle music and normalized audio. In 16:9, ready to upload.

Why ManyMotion

Up to 30 minutes

Tutorials, vlogs, breakdowns, interviews: upload a video up to 30 minutes and 5 GB, sent in chunks so nothing gets lost.

An intro that hooks

The AI can open on your strongest line instead of a long "hey everyone".

A visible structure

On-screen chapter titles and highlighted numbers: viewers always know where they are.

Regular pattern interrupts

Zooms, B-roll from your other videos, transitions at section changes.

Clean audio

Your voice normalized, original music that ducks under speech, subtle sound effects.

How it works

What drives retention on a YouTube video

YouTube measures how long people watch your video. A video that holds its audience gets recommended more. Editing has a big impact here, at three moments:

  • The first 30 seconds: show right away what the video promises. The final result of a tutorial, the conclusion of a breakdown, the highlight of a vlog.
  • The middle: this is where the retention curve slowly slides. Regular pattern interrupts (chapter title, zoom, B-roll, question) keep it up.
  • The ending: no long wrap-up. Finish on your last strong idea and a clear call to action.

We cover each technique in editing techniques that keep viewers watching to the end.

The typical structure of an edited YouTube video

Preparing your files for a long edit

  1. One main take of 30 minutes max. Beyond that, split your footage into several videos.
  2. Separate B-roll clips: up to 5 videos per message in total. Name them clearly in your request ("the workshop clip", "the software screen").
  3. Clean audio: it's the basis of the transcript, and therefore of the cuts and captions.
  4. A structure in mind: announce your sections out loud while filming ("step one..."). It helps the AI place the titles.
  5. Your target length: "about 8 minutes" or "keep everything, just cut the silences".

Uploads are sent in chunks: on a shaky connection, a dropout doesn't make you start over.

What AI editing doesn't do for YouTube

Better to know before you start:

  • No automatic splitting into Shorts: one request gives one edited video. To pull a Short from your long video, make a new request in 9:16 and specify the part to keep.
  • No multicam editing: if you filmed with two synced cameras, the AI doesn't switch between them automatically. You can, however, use the second video as B-roll.
  • No direct publishing: you export a Full HD MP4 (4K on the agency plan) and upload it yourself.

Frequently asked questions

How long a YouTube video can I get edited?

+

You can upload a video up to 30 minutes and 5 GB. The final video is shorter once silences and hesitations are removed, or the length you ask for.

How much does editing a 10-minute YouTube video cost?

+

A 12-minute raw video costs 24 credits to upload. If the final video is 10 minutes long, count 300 credits (1 credit per 2 seconds). The Studio plan at $79 per month includes 1,300 credits. See pricing.

Can I also get Shorts from my video?

+

Yes, by making one request per Short, in 9:16, specifying the part to keep. There's no automatic splitting of a long video into several clips.

Are captions required on YouTube?

+

No. On a long video, clean captions help people watching with the sound off. You can also ask for "no captions".
