Add auto captions to your video, synced to the exact word
On social media, a large share of people watch with the sound off. Without captions, your video is silent to them. With ManyMotion, you upload your video and the AI transcribes it word by word, with the exact timestamp of each word. You get auto captions that are perfectly synced, in the style you want: big words popping up TikTok-style, karaoke or clean. Keywords are highlighted in color and captions stay clear of your face.

Why ManyMotion
Synced word by word
No lines showing up too early or too late: each word appears at the exact moment you say it.
Three proven styles
"Pop" (1 to 3 extra-bold words, TikTok-style), "karaoke" (the spoken word lights up) or "clean" for LinkedIn and YouTube.
Fonts that pop
Montserrat, Poppins, Lilita One, Anton, Bebas Neue... with keywords highlighted in color to guide the eye.
Never over your face
The AI detects your face and places captions where they don't hide anything.
Many languages
English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and many more: the transcript follows the language spoken in your video.
How it works
01
Upload your video
MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 30 minutes. Name the caption style you want, or let the AI choose.
02
The AI transcribes and captions
Every word is timestamped, so captions appear right as you say them.
03
Tweak and export
Color, font, size, a misheard word: fix it by chatting, then download your MP4.
Why captions change how far a video goes
On the subway, at the office, in bed next to someone sleeping: most videos on social media start playing with the sound off. If your message only comes through your voice, those viewers scroll past without understanding what you're talking about.
Captions do three things at once:
- They make the video understandable without sound, so they hold on to people scrolling in silence.
- They add visual rhythm: words appearing in time with your voice keep something moving on screen at all times.
- They make your video accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers, and to people who aren't fluent in your language.
Our guide to adding subtitles to video covers readability rules and the most common mistakes.
Which caption style to choose
| Style | What it looks like | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pop | 1 to 3 extra-bold words in the center, popping up one by one | TikTok, Reels, Shorts, high-energy content |
| Karaoke | One short line, the spoken word changes color | Tutorials, recipes, storytelling, educational videos |
| Clean | One or two discreet lines at the bottom of the frame | LinkedIn, YouTube, training, interviews |
Pop style grabs the most attention, but it gets tiring on a 10-minute video. On the flip side, clean captions on a fast-paced TikTok will feel flat. Choose based on the platform and the length, not on your taste of the moment.
How ManyMotion creates your captions
- Word-by-word transcription: each word gets a start and end time. That's what makes the sync precise.
- Grouping into readable chunks: the AI groups words based on the chosen style (1 to 3 words for pop, a short line for karaoke).
- Emphasis: keywords are detected and colored, and the font and size adapt to the format.
- Smart placement: thanks to face detection, captions avoid your face and sit alongside emojis and on-screen text.
- Corrections by chat: a name transcribed wrong? Type "replace Kathryn with Catherine" and it's fixed.
And since it's a real edit, you can also cut the silences and add zooms and music. It's all explained on the AI video editor page.
Mistakes that make captions unreadable
- Too much text at once: two lines of fifteen words, and nobody reads them before they disappear.
- A thin font on a busy background: with no outline or shadow, the text gets lost in the image.
- Captions under the app interface: on TikTok and Reels, the bottom of the screen is covered by the caption and buttons. Keep them in the central area.
- Uncorrected typos: a misheard brand name looks amateurish. Proofread before exporting.
- Out of sync with the voice: captions that run early or late are worse than no captions. Word-level syncing solves this.
Frequently asked questions
Are the captions really automatic?
+
Yes. You upload your video, the AI transcribes every word with its exact timestamp and places the captions in the chosen style. You don't type anything. You can fix a misheard word by asking in the chat.
Which languages do the captions support?
+
Transcription works in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and many other languages. Captions are in the language spoken in the video: ManyMotion doesn't translate or dub your voice.
Can I choose the font and color?
+
Yes: Montserrat, Poppins, Lilita One, Anton, Bebas Neue and others, plus the text color and the keyword color. Ask for it in your first message or as a revision (5 credits).
How much does adding captions cost?
+
Uploading costs 2 credits per started minute, then 1 credit per 2 seconds of final video. So a 40-second video comes to 2 upload credits plus 20 credits. The 60 free credits are enough to try it.
Can I get a separate subtitle file?
+
Videos export as MP4 with the captions burned into the image: your video is ready to post anywhere, even on platforms that don't support separate subtitle files.
