WhatsApp status video for nonprofits and NGOs: turn your contacts into donors and volunteers
Your members, volunteers, donors and partners already have your number: WhatsApp Status is where they see your work without any algorithm in the way. An animated video under 30 seconds is all it takes to show results from the field, launch a donation appeal payable by M-Pesa or MTN MoMo, or recruit volunteers for Saturday. Here's how to build statuses that make people reply "count me in".

6 video ideas for nonprofits and NGOs
01The fundraising counter
One status a day with the gauge rising toward the goal (kits, meals, wells): your contacts come back to check progress and share when you're close to the target.
02What your donation becomes
Translate each amount into concrete impact: $3 = a meal, $5 = a notebook and pens. It's the direct answer to "what does my money do?".
03Express volunteer call
Date, place, number of hands needed and shifts in big letters, with a keyword to reply: perfect the day before a distribution or a collection drive.
04The field report
A few days after an action, show your uploaded photos with the results in numbers and a personal thank-you to partners: that's what builds trust for the next campaign.
05Dates that matter
Prepare your statuses for international days linked to your cause, Ramadan and Eid, back-to-school, the end of the year and Giving Tuesday, times when the urge to give is strong.
06Behind the scenes and transparency
Explain in 20 seconds how donations are used, who decides and when the annual general meeting presents the accounts: it defuses the "where does the money go?" suspicion.

What works for a nonprofit or NGO on WhatsApp Status
On WhatsApp, the people who see your status already know you: members, past donors, beneficiaries' families, partners. You don't need to introduce yourself, you need to give them a reason to act today and make it easy.
- A specific, quantified need: "we're 40 bags of rice short for Friday" rallies more people than a general call to support the cause.
- Impact translated into an object: an amount equal to a meal, a medical visit, a notebook. Donors picture what they're funding.
- One action per status: donate by mobile money, reply with a keyword, or sign up as a volunteer. Not all three at once.
- The payment number and the account holder's name shown large and on screen for a few seconds, to avoid mistakes and reassure people.
- A series rather than a one-off status: announcement, progress, last day, results. Your contacts follow the story like a TV series.
- The follow-up after the action: it's the most important status for keeping supporters, because it proves the donations get where they're meant to.
